Kitbooth Content-Management-System

Press Release

03/17/2010

Kitbooth is online

After more than two years in development, Kitbooth has been published today on www.kitbooth.com and is offered as a free download under an open-source-license.

The development of the content management system (CMS) began in January 2008 and founder internet agency PSiA (www.psia.de) has been using it for its customer’s websites since and has kept on evolving it. The decision to create a new system was based on dissatisfaction the web designer at PSiA had with using other systems. Those were either too developer orientated and hard to operate or were too end-user orientated and lacked specific web designer’s needs.

Their own CMS Kitbooth should be based on a new and different approach. Neither artificial barriers nor limits should restrict users unnecessarily. The system should be as easy as diverse. A first web page should be created within 10 seconds and then extended substantially further on. Additionally, this system should be easily enhanced with “Kits”. This gives developers the opportunity to create and implement extensions and choose which users should be access granted to.

Another distinctiveness, which was part of Kitbooth from the beginning are structures. They can be created infinitely und can contain contents, templates and more structures, and all simultaneously! With this, templates can be nested and various contents can output on a single site. Even complete separate websites can be administrated in a single installation on a single interface. Meanwhile, structures are capable of even more.

In future releases, the base functionality will continue to improve and will equip more and more programming interfaces, which help developers to create new “Kits” more easily. In addition, instructions and information will be provided and updated on the website (www.kitbooth.com) and in the wiki (www.kitbooth.com/wiki). The goal is now to tell as many users, web designers and developers about Kitbooth and delight and inspire them.
