Introduction

Agencies, enterprises, associations and webmasters: Kitbooth offers everyone interested a guide for a content-management-system to freely publish and organize your contents. Kitbooth can even be extended in the Kitstore. Regardless of being a beginner or an agency, Kitbooth offers the flexibility to just manage HTML pages or to create, maintain and share complete structures, templates, contents, articles and extensions in the web. Kitbooth is an open source CMS and published under a license compatible to GPL. Therefor it can be used freely and fitted to your needs. Kits can be easily developed for your customers or be published and even sold at the Kitstore. Read more
Installation

Unzip the downloaded file kitbooth-installation.zip. Open the file config.txt within the folder kitbooth with a double click and enter the information about the database, save afterwards. Without these information Kitbooth can’t connect to the database and therefor can’t display any content. Within the file are detailed descriptions what exactly these information are. Upload the folder kitbooth and the file .htaccess to the root folder of the webserver. The file .htaccess redirects all incoming requests in the folder kitbooth. Should Kitbooth be deactivated, this file should be deleted. Enter the domain name in the address bar. Kitbooth should start without error if the installation and connection to the database was successful. It should display the “404 Not Found” page in the browser. This error code confirms the system is running correctly therefor can’t find any content. The backend can be accessed when entering /backend after the domain name in the address bar. The username is user@kitbooth.com, the password is: kitbooth. Click System in the menu at top, then click Kit Verwaltung to install all Kits already available. Thereto click ja in front of every Kit and confirm by pressing Kits aktualisieren at the end. Click Kits in the menu at top, and then click Benutzer to manage all system’s users. Click on Bearbeiten at the first user user@kitbooth.com, next change the value of E-Mail-Adresse to your e-mail-address and enter a new password. Finally, press Benutzerdaten aktualisieren.
